Swim Team Tryouts For Both Red Bank And Camp Zehnder Sites:

The Community YMCA, Red Bank Swim Team will be holding our second of three try outs on Wednesday, June 12, 2013.  Tryouts will be held at the Red Bank Branch, 166 Maple Avenue, Red Bank, New Jersey.  Click the Try-Outs Additional Information link below for detailed information.  

Also, you will need to print, fill out, and bring the Background Information Form (see link below), to Try-Outs. This form can be emailed ahead of time to Sue Wright at swimteam-wright@comcast.net  or brought with you the night of try-outs.

This try out is for those existing swimmers who need to try out and new swimmers from both the Red Bank Vicinity as well as the Wall Vicinity for our Camp Zehnder site.  Existing swimmers who need to try out include all those on pre-team and blue group as well as all other swimmers whose first year on the team was the 2012-2013 season.  *It is required that existing RBY swimmers email their form to Sue Wright BEFORE June 12.  Thank you.

During Tryouts, swimmers will be assessed on their skills for their age group as follows:

8/Under:  25 yards of Freestyle, and two 25 yard swims of either Butterfly Backstroke or Breaststroke.

9/10:  50 yards of Freestyle, and two 50 yard swims of either Butterfly Backstroke or Breaststroke.  Swimmers will be asked to dive off the Starting Blocks.

11/12:  100 yards of Freestyle, and two 50 yard swims of either Butterfly Backstroke or Breaststroke.

13/Over:  100 yards of Freestyle, and two 100 yard swims of either Butterfly Backstroke or Breaststroke.

Swimmer's age groups for tryouts will be based on their age as of 12/1/2013.  Children who age up before this date must try out for the next age group.  A $10.00 fee is due at tryout registration.

Electronic times can be submitted in lieu of attending tryouts - see the link below for guidelines.  Times must be verifiable in either the YMCA or USA Swimming databases.
